This presentation will include information about ghosts, the ways of tracking paranormal activity on video, camera, and audio, and an opportunity for participants to ask questions regarding the history and methods of researching paranormal activity. The Ohio Researchers of Banded Spirits have over thirty years of experience working with paranormal activity and have been featured in a number of television shows including “My Ghost Story”, “Haunted History”, “Paranormal Survivor”, and “Haunted Case Files”. This program is free and open to all ages. No registration required.

Library Scavenger Hunt

April 9-15
Celebrate National Library Week with an interactive scavenger hunt. Follow the clues around the library to discover more about our history and what unique materials we have to offer.
Those who complete the scavenger hunt will win a small prize. All ages.


Solar Eclipse Spectacular

Monday, August 21

Join Reed Memorial Library for sun and moon activities in the parking lot during the eclipse. The eclipse will begin at 1:07 p.m. and the max will be viewable at 2:31 p.m. The end of the eclipse will be at 3:52 p.m. Special glasses to view the eclipse have been provided by the Star Library Education Network. No registration is required for this free event.

Genealogy Research Workshop

Bring your genealogy questions and research. Working together, we will try to solve your unanswered questions using resources available at the library and knowledge from the group.
This workshop is open to all levels of experience. Registration required.

Build & Create!

Saturday, February 24

Families compete in in building and creating challenges in this all-day event. Participants can challenge themselves and others using the supplied materials and their imagination. Materials will vary each month and may include straws, blocks, paper, foam, looms, and more. No registration required.


“Book a Trip” Winter Reading Program

February 6-March 6
Escape the winter blues and book a trip with Reed Memorial Library’s winter reading program.

Adults and Teens pick up a reading log and mark down each day that you read. After completing five days, bring the log back to win a prize. Additional prize opportunities will be available to those who read throughout the entire month. Prizes include tote bags, raffle tickets, and much more!

Families may stop by the Children’s Desk to pick up a reading log for the entire family. Mark your log every time the family reads a book, and return your completed log to win a prize.

National Pie Day

Wednesday, January 23

Stop by for a free slice of pie. A variety of pies will be available, and all pies were made or donated by library staff and members of Friends of the Library.
