Gingerbread Madness, our annual gingerbread house decorating contest is now underway. We have four categories you can enter: 

• child/family
• tween/teen (13-18 yrs.)
• adult (19+)
• reproduction of a Ravenna landmark in gingerbread

You may enter using one of our free gingerbread house kits or you may buy/bake/make your own. Free gingerbread kits are limited to one per household, so that everyone can participate. Kits contain the prebaked house, a cardboard base, two bags of icing, some decorating ideas and an icing recipe if you need more than we provide.

You may also choose to bake/buy your own gingerbread house. The library has a good selection of books with recipes and tips for making gingerbread creations that can help you succeed.

Rules:

• Free kits are limited to one per household. Kits will begin distributing on Thursday, November 6. 
• You may enter as many houses as you wish, but please fill out an entry for each house.
• Each gingerbread house may only be entered into one category
• Make sure your gingerbread house is on a solid, firm base that can be moved and transported to its display location.
• Your base may not exceed 18" x 20" in size.
• All gingerbread creations should be brought to Reed Memorial Library no later than end of day, Saturday, November 22nd.

Voting begins Tuesday, November 25 and continues through Sunday, December 7th.

Winners will be announced on Monday, December 8th. All finished gingerbread creations will be displayed at Reed Memorial Library through January 1, 2026.
